Song Circle meets Community Choir meets Singing Workshop.
Join Scott & Anabel, directors of the Harmony Songbirds on Salt Spring Island, for a facilitated journey into a soundscape of 3- and 4-part harmonies.
We’ll learn and sing soulful, nature-oriented songs.
We’ll connect more deeply with ourselves through our voices, and with each other through harmony.
And, we’ll practice ways of strengthening our voices and abilities to hear and hold harmonies.

Studio space is limited to 20 participants. If weather supports, we’ll invite folks from the waitlist and expand the circle around an outdoor Fire made by the Fire Women in the day’s earlier workshop.

Meet Your Facilitators
Scott Lucyk is a graduate of Wisdom of the Earth Wilderness School and is a singer and educator. His experience includes deep nature connection mentorship, singing in an A Capella Quartet for nearly 10 years, and facilitating song circles and workshops for 3 years. Scott
finds joy facilitating harmonies to awaken our connection to ourselves, each other, and Nature. He believes that singing is an innate part of being human and that creating harmony has a unique power to bring people together in unity with the living world.
Anabel de la Foret is a passionate singer who has brought song circles along with her in her global travels for over 10 years. She cultivates space for all emotions to be felt - from grief to ecstasy! She’s inspired by song leaders around the world such as Uria Tsur, Marya Stark, and Max Ribner!
Ancestral Rays
You’re invited to the first in a series of ancestral skill and cultural repair events at the Pacific Hedge School on Hawthorn Homestead. We’re starting with Fire and Song and intend to connect our community here on Gabriola with a variety of mentors who are gifted in nature-based crafting, animal transformation (including hide tanning), and other ways of reconnecting with self and others, including the more-than-human world.
Participate in rebuilding a village culture that honours Ancestors, Elders, and the Land, integrates multiple ways of knowing and ancient ways of being, and reconnects us with the wisdom needed to meet the times ahead. Ancestral Rays is inspired by deep work already being done in these ways through Wisdom of the Earth Wilderness School, EarthKin, and other initiatives.
Ancestral Rays will include shorter sessions, one-day workshops, and longer gatherings, sometimes with specific audiences, like this next Fire offering for women, and other times, inclusive of all, as with the Song circle.
